Controlled-atmosphere brazing furnace

Two more CAB furnaces for MCHE brazing are to be installed in Q1 2023

Continuously rising demand for microchannel heat exchangers compels Kaltra to expand manufacturing by installing two additional controlled-atmosphere brazing (CAB) furnaces with the overall potential to double heat exchanger production.

The expansion has been scheduled for February 2023 and will be completed without interruptions in production processes. New furnaces will be commissioned and start operation in March.

Each CAB furnace will include a thermal degreaser with an afterburner, fluxer unit, dry-off oven, and furnace itself to braze heat exchangers in an oxygen-free nitrogen atmosphere. Advanced measurement devices for oxygen presence, moisture content (dew point) in critical brazing zone – a key indicator of the quality of the brazing atmosphere – and perfect balance of nitrogen flow that is of primary importance ensure top quality of end products.

By putting new brazing furnaces into operation, Kaltra would be prepared to fulfill forecast demand for MCHE in 2023 and beyond.
