PREFERRED REPLACEMENT FOR R410A WITH LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

R32, also called difluoromethane, is a next-generation refrigerant that efficiently carries heat while having a lower environmental impact. R32 belongs to the HFC group of refrigerants and is poised to replace the higher GWP gases such as R410a in low-temperature air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

R32 is very close to R410a in terms of operating conditions, efficiency, and performance but is not suitable as a retrofit.

Refrigerant R32 (difluoromethane)

R32 is an efficient alternative that is in line with the F-Gas target for 2025 and currently being favored across a wide range of HVAC equipment. R32 outshines traditional refrigerants in terms of effective cooling, as well as offering substantial environmental and cost-related benefits:

  • Low GWP of 675 – 1/3 of those for R410a and below the F-Gas regulation limit
  • Mildly flammable, non-toxic with a safety classification of A2L
  • Higher efficiency compared to R410a
  • Smaller charge compared to R410a
  • 20% higher volumetric capacity
  • Can be charged from the liquid or vapor phase
