Kaltra launches high-efficiency rack cooling door solution to target data center hotspots
Kaltra Innovativtechnik, a Germany-based cooling specialist, has launched its chilled water rack-based cooling solution intended for use in high-density data center applications. The development of the In-Rack solution is in response to growing demand for high-density cooling solutions from the data center sector for energy savings and reduction in carbon emissions.
The new In-Rack uses chilled water as a cooling media and features a microchannel evaporator for enhanced performance, higher redundancy, and reduced weight of the unit:
- Low airside pressure drops, resulting in low fan power consumption (EER up to 395)
- Excellent performance at both full and partial loads
- Low weight with minimal impact on rack weight capacity
- Hot-swappable EC fans, dual power supply and UPS options to provide high system reliability
The In-Rack cooling unit is designed to fit within a compact footprint and as it is fixed directly to the server rack by replacing its rear door.
Kaltra is a world-known provider of cooling technologies and advanced cooling products for mission-critical applications, such as data centers, clean rooms, contaminant-free areas, processing plants, and other facilities where reliability and energy efficiency are key factors. Kaltra’s cooling equipment range includes precision cooling systems, air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, evaporative cooling solutions, dry coolers, and condensers.
