Kaltra’s second factory reaches nominal capacity of 800,000 microchannel heat exchangers annually

Kaltra announces that its second microchannel heat exchanger manufacturing facility, opened earlier this year, has now reached its nominal capacity of 800,000 units per year. This capacity adds to the 3 million units per year nominal output of Kaltra’s main factory, further strengthening the company’s ability to respond to rising global demand.

The new factory is equipped with state-of-the-art automation, including automatic core builders for precise coil assembly, a complete range of fin machines covering all fin sizes and pitches, and a continuous-type CAB furnace enabling reliable, high-volume brazing. These investments ensure consistent quality, scalability, and efficiency across production.

Spanning 16,000 m², the site combines the manufacturing plant with office space and well-structured loading yards, designed for streamlined logistics and smooth material flow. The high degree of automation aligns with Kaltra’s strategy to reduce lead times, improve repeatability, and deliver maximum flexibility to its customers.

“Reaching nominal capacity at our second factory is a strategic milestone,” said Lukas Engelhardt, Business Development Officer at Kaltra. “With 800,000 units of nominal capacity now added to the 3 million units of our main facility, Kaltra has established a robust production base to support the global HVAC and refrigeration industry with reliable supply and advanced technology.”

This achievement builds on Kaltra’s earlier 2025 automation upgrades and underscores the company’s long-term commitment to growth, innovation, and leadership in thermal management solutions.

Kaltra’s second factory has reached its nominal capacity of 800,000 microchannel heat exchangers annually, adding to 3 million at its main site.

Headquartered in Germany and Austria, Kaltra is a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced microchannel heat exchangers (MCHEs) and thermal management solutions.

Kaltra specializes in the engineering and production of high-performance MCHEs for use in condensers, evaporators, and air-to-fluid heat transfer applications. The company offers a broad range of microchannel coils tailored for compact and energy-efficient cooling and heating systems.

Beyond its core MCHE expertise, Kaltra designs and manufactures a full lineup of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, including air-cooled, water-cooled, and free cooling chillers; precision air conditioners; and IT cooling solutions such as room-, row-, and rack-based systems. Its product portfolio also includes air-cooled condensers, dry coolers, and specialized cooling units, all engineered for performance, reliability, and energy savings.

All Kaltra products are developed with a clear focus on maximizing energy efficiency, minimizing refrigerant charge, and reducing total cost of ownership.
