Kaltra adopts R450a to screw chillers
Kaltra continues to move proactively to refrigerants with a lower global warming potential with the introduction of R450a-driven air-cooled chillers.
The next Kaltra equipment range adopted for use with R450a is air-cooled chillers of Lightstream Screw-V family, offering cooling capacity from 170 to 1550kW. The range is based on Bitzer screw compressors of CSH series approved for refrigerant R450a and displays the same energy efficiency as predecessor R134a screw chillers. Lightstream Screw-V is the second lineup adapted for running on R450a after the introduction of R450a water-cooled chillers last winter.
Refrigerant R450a, a zeotropic blend of R134a and HFO1234ze classified in the A1 safety group, has been designed to serve as a non-flammable replacement for R134a and offers similar performance and energy efficiency but with a global warming potential value of only 547.
